So just what is necessary to use this? I’m not sure I have time to post articles, etc. very regularly but a couple of things interest me. The first would be looking at UHI and associated things. The second would be a primer on math and science for those who seem to have trouble actually doing the real science. So what’s the committment if any in terms of posting? I assume I’d learn eventually if I once hit the “signup” link but a bit of guidance would be useful.

The answer is: as much or as little as you want to do. I would suspect that it could vary, with little bursts of activity and long pauses.

Not all of us are on a mission like Steve McIntyre ;-)

When you signup, you will also get access to a forum where you can ask questions of me (or other authors), so help can be given there.

Also, you can have multiple blogs on different subjects, which would fit in with your scheme. Each blog can have multiple authors so if you wanted to invite others to write on a subject, then you can do so.

BTW, John A, though I assume you’re aware, ClimateAudit is down just now. It was down for a while with something about the server but now it gives a certificate problem.

Username and password entry boxes extend beyong the page’s width. Recommend that the page dynamically expand to fill the brower’s page and the above entry boxes be resized.

Yes, I know about CA. I’m trying to transfer all of CA’s files to the new VPS and change the domain information. Should be back tomorrow

John Baltutis: Do you mean the login on the right hand side? Which browser are you using?

All: you can now signup - I fixed the problem.

    Re: #7

Yes, but that’s been fixed. Running Safari 2.9.4 w/Mac OS X 10.4.8. Your page doesn’t fill the screen horizontally. I get a centered sheet framed on a black background. The pages at CA (and other websites) expand horizontally to fill the browser’s window, no matter how I change it’s size.

One additional item. The text entry box for replies should extend to both edges. Currently, it only goes little past center.

The theme I use for this blog is fixed width, but I’ll have a look at the code for the comment width to see if I can make it a little bigger.

At the moment it looks to me (Firefox 2.0, Windows XP) like the comment area is the same width as the comments.

    Re: #10

Understood WRT your selected theme. However, it sure wastes space in my window.

WRT to the comment box width, it is the same as the comments, but should probably extend the width of your page. I don’t know enough about CSSs, but it looks like you have two columns, one for the comments and one for the other stuff. The comment box should extend across both, if that’s an option.

It’s a choice made for reasons of neatness. Other themes have variable width - just not this one.

I think you’re rather used to Climate Audit.

However, be that as it may, could I interest you in a blog?

    So, CA is gone ?

    Expiration Date:

    31-Jan-2008 13:07:55 UTC

    is it 2008 already?

I think someone has silenced ClimateAudit because it’s one of the leading skeptic sites and today is the day the IPCC rolls out their propaganda. I don’t know who’s done it, but I hope they can fix the problem soon. Are you around, John A?

  15. on 01 Feb 2007 at 2:39 pmDave Dardinger

It’s funny that someone came on and posted a message saying the problem had affected him. So how did he manage to get a message posted? I can’t figure out how to get to the site myself. I looked at the source code and didn’t get any real clue.

    Argh! I’m in ClimateAudit withdrawal!
Can we at least fix: “The blog you were looking for, http://climateaudit.auditblogs.com/ doesn’t exist but you can create it now!”

  17. on 13 Feb 2007 at 10:26 pmJohn A

Good point. I’ll add it to the list of domains that cannot be created.

  18. on 14 Feb 2007 at 2:01 pmfFreddy

John, please could you unKarma me over at Dan’s blog ?
Also, is the WeatherInfo blog yours ? (I have been mulling over a possible design for a reference section for ClimateAudit, but this may be a more appropriate place for it.)

  19. on 14 Feb 2007 at 3:45 pmJohn A

    Re #18

    1. Done
    2. No. The weatherinfo blog is not mine.

  20. on 17 Feb 2007 at 12:15 pmMrPete

    Hi JohnA,

    I guess i’m Karma’d on Dan’s blog and he’s away… Any chance I could get unKarma’d? Thanks.

One o’ these days maybe I’ll have time to do my own audit. Definitely not yet… but THANK YOU for setting this up!

  21. on 19 Feb 2007 at 1:38 amJohn A

    Done

  22. on 12 Apr 2007 at 12:18 pmFreddy

Um, John, methinks aurelie, mikelis and annaliese don’t quite fit …

  23. on 12 Apr 2007 at 5:24 pmJohn A

Good spot, fFred. They have been marked as spam.

    What’s the status on ClimateAudit?

  25. on 16 Aug 2007 at 7:45 amJohn A

Status is that Steve moved the domain climateaudit.org to the new IP address before the server has actually been moved. It’s still on http://209.218.29.87/ for the moment.

Later today it will be moved to the colocation datacenter and all will be (mostly) well again.
